Good manufacturing practices (GMP) are procedures and controls used to support product identity, quality and consistency. They address how products are manufactured, handled, packaged and labeled. These controls matter, but they do not make kratom risk-free.
What AKA GMP qualification means
The American Kratom Association (AKA) administers a voluntary GMP Standards Program. Qualified vendors undergo an independent third-party audit and must meet ongoing requirements, including an annual audit. Qualification concerns facilities and processes; it is not an AKA product endorsement or a guarantee of safety or effectiveness.

Our store & the brands we carry
Laughing Lion Herbs' earlier website described past AKA participation and stated that renewal stopped in July 2023. That historical information should not be read as a current AKA qualification claim for our store.
MitWellness appears on the AKA's qualified vendor list, checked October 3, 2026. A supplier's qualification applies to that supplier's audited operations and does not automatically qualify Laughing Lion Herbs or every brand we sell. Qualification status can change; consult the current list above.
For other brands, please contact us about current manufacturer documentation. We make no AKA qualification claim for a brand whose status has not been verified.
Understand the testing behind your batch
A useful certificate of analysis (COA) identifies the product and batch, the laboratory, test date, methods and results. Check that the report matches the batch you are buying. Relevant information may include alkaloid content, product identity, microbiological testing and heavy metal results. A report only addresses what was tested in the submitted sample; it does not establish that a product is free of every possible risk.
