Knowing the Amount of CBD When Vaping CBD

Vaping CBD is one of the most popular ways for people to get cannabidiol. That said, it can be harder to measure your amount of CBD when vaping than it is with other methods that come in pre-measured serving sizes.

For that reason, it’s important to consider multiple factors if you’re trying to vape CBD until you get a certain amount. You’ll have to consider things like the following:

  • How concentrated is CBD vape oil?
  • How much do you weigh?
  • How does your body normally react to CBD?
  • For what reason are you making the decision to vape CBD?

The delivery method of your cannabidiol will also have an effect, but in this case we’re going to operate on the assumption that you’ve already decided to vape CBD. If you’re interested in learning about other products, we encourage you to check our online CBD store so you can see what kind of options are available. If you’re sticking with your decision to get your cannabidiol through vaping, it’s important to learn about how that will affect the bioavailability.

What Bioavailability Means to CBD

Simply put, bioavailability is a way to refer to how much CBD actually gets into your bloodstream. Depending on how you consume cannabidiol, some of it will be filtered out or discarded by your body without actually making it into your blood. One of the best things about vaping CBD is that it leads to the highest levels of bioavailability. In other words, your body will absorb the most cannabidiol when you vape CBD.

For this reason, many people decide to vape cannabidiol instead of choosing CBD edibles, capsules, or oils. People like this method because it allows them to get the same amount of cannabidiol in their system without consuming as much of it. Some people regard vaping CBD as the most efficient way to enjoy CBD.

How to Calculate the Amount of CBD When Vaping

Everyone’s body chemistry is different, which means everyone reports having a different experience with CBD. That said, most people agree that the best way to determine which amount of CBD is right for them is to start with a low amount, then gradually increase their consumption until they feel they’ve reached the right level. This way, people will avoid consuming too much CBD at one time. Scientific researchers haven’t determined any serious concerns related to the consumption of CBD, but some people do say that it can make them feel tired.

What Serving Size of CBD Is Best?

Even though everyone has a different experience with CBD, there are general trends that seem to emerge from most people’s reports. Our customers normally say that they like to start with the following amounts depending on their body weight, and then increase or decrease their CBD consumption as needed:

  • Under 150 Pounds – 10 to 15mg CBD to start
  • 150 to 250 Pounds – 15 to 25mg CBD to start
  • Over 250 Pounds – 25 to 45mg CBD to start

Keep in mind that the general amounts above have been reported by individual consumers, and are not a professional or medical recommendation about the best amount of CBD. We always recommend that people start low, then work their way up as they become more comfortable with what to expect from CBD. The appropriate level of cannabidiol may also depend on the reason you’re consuming it in the first place.

How Much CBD Is in Each Puff?

There’s no real way to know how much CBD is in each puff while you’re vaping. There are too many factors that go into that, like how efficient your vaporizer is and how much you’re drawing out of it in each puff.

That said, it’s much easier to calculate the amount of CBD in each tank of vape oil, especially if you buy from a reputable CBD store that labels their products accurately.

To start, you’ll need to look at your bottle of CBD vape oil to see how many milligrams of CBD are contained in the entire bottle. From there, you can divide that by how many milliliters of CBD vape oil are in the entire bottle. That equation will tell you how many milligrams of CBD are in a single milliliter of CBD vape juice.

Multiply that number by the number of milliliters your vape tank holds, and you’ll have a good idea of how many milligrams of CBD are in a full tank of vape juice.

Here’s how that math works out for a real example:

  • You buy a 10mL container of CBD vape juice that contains 50mg of CBD.
  • Divide 50 by 10 to determine that there are 5mg of CBD in a single mL of your CBD vape oil.
  • If the tank on your vape pen holds 5mL of oil in a full tank, you would multiply 5×5 to determine that there are 25mg of CBD in your vape pen when it’s completely full.
  • Now that you know how much cannabidiol is in a full tank of CBD vape juice, you can determine how much of it you want to consume in a day.
  • If you plan to consume 10mg of CBD each day, that means you’ll be vaping a little bit less than half of your full tank.

Once you’ve done the math to determine how much of your CBD vape juice you want to consume each day, you’ll be able to make adjustments. If you find that the amount of cannabidiol you want to consume would require you to be vaping CBD too often, then it may be time to look for a CBD vape juice with a higher concentration of CBD in each milliliter of liquid.

On the other hand, some people discover that they like to vape a lot every day, but they’re getting more CBD than they want when they do so. In that case, you can look for CBD vape juice that isn’t as concentrated with cannabidiol, or you can mix your CBD vape oil with plain vape oil to dilute it and create your own flavors.
