Product Guide - Red Strain Kratom

Posted by Laughing Lion Herbs on 8th Jan 2021

There are many different types of kratom, but only three true strains. The mitragyna speciosa tree leaves can be categorized as red vein kratom, green vein kratom, and white vein kratom. All of the other products you find (including gold vein kratom) are actually mixes or specific products. You can find all of the types of kratom powder in our online kratom store, though red vein kratom is the most popular.

The decision to purchase kratom is a personal one, and everyone should form their own opinions about the best type of kratom. With that said, though, many of our customers say that red vein kratom appeals to them the most because it’s the most in line with what they’re expecting from their relationship with kratom. Whether you’re new to kratom or simply looking for a new favorite kratom powder, it’s definitely worth learning more about red vein kratom.

What Is Red Vein Kratom?

Simply put, red vein kratom is a type of kratom leaf that has red veins running through it. This accounts for 80-90% of all kratom leaves harvested. Many people believe (incorrectly) that Green, White, and Red Kratom is all different. But most White and Green kratom comes from leaves with red veins. The difference is usually the region it is harvested in or the way it is dried and processed. That’s all there is to it– kratom strains are named after their region or drying method. This may seem simplistic, but you can actually learn a lot about a kratom leaf’s unique qualities and characteristics simply by taking a look at it. The color of the stems and veins gives us some hints about the plant’s natural chemical composition.

When you buy red vein kratom online, though, the stems and veins may have already been removed. Alternatively, it will be hard to see the stems and veins because the leaf has already been ground into kratom powder. This is convenient in many ways since it makes it easier to enjoy the plant. It also makes it hard to see the actual stems and veins, though.

That’s why it’s so important to choose a reliable retailer before you buy kratom online. Some red vein kratom powder will look slightly red or brown, but many types will be roughly the same green color as any other type of kratom. When you buy from a reputable online kratom store that takes care to source and handles their kratom properly, you can buy with confidence that you’re actually getting the red vein kratom you want.

Why Do People Buy Red Kratom?

So many people buy red vein kratom because it’s known for having the highest levels of alkaloids that aid with relaxation and calming. The following alkaloids are present in Red Vein Kratom in small percentages but tend to be higher in red than in other strains.

  • Mitraphylline: Also found in high concentrations in the bark of Chinese Cat’s claw (Uncaria tomentosa).
  • Isomitraphylline
  • Speciophylline: Also found in Chinese Cat’s claw (Uncaria tomentosa).
  • Rhynchophylline: Also found in Chinese Cat’s claw (Uncaria tomentosa). It has a similar chemical structure to mitragynine.
  • Isorhynchophylline: Also found in the Uncaria family of plants, where it is the most prevalent alkaloid.
  • Ajmalicine (Raubasine): Also found in devil peppers and bright eyes.
  • Akuammigine: Also found in the seeds of Picralima nitida (akaumma).
  • Ciliaphylline: Found most prevalently in young twigs and stem bark of mitragyna speciosa (the kratom tree).
  • Corynantheidine: Also found in devil peppers and members of the pausinystalia plant genus.
  • Corynoxeine: Also found in certain varieties of Chinese Cat’s Claw (Uncaria rhynchophylla).
  • Corynoxine A and B: Also found in certain varieties of Chinese Cat’s Claw (Uncaria tomentosa).
  • Epicatechin: Also found in dark chocolate, green tea, and grapes.
  • 9-Hydroxycorynantheidine
  • Isomitrafoline: A newly isolated kratom alkaloid; very little research has been completed on it.
  • Isopteropodine
  • Isospeciofoline
  • Mitraciliatine
  • Mitragynine oxindoles A and B
  • Mitrafoline
  • Mitraversine: Also present in kratom’s sister plant, mitragyna parvifolia. Has a very similar chemical structure to mitragynine.
  • Speciociliatine
  • Speciofoline
  • Stipulatine
  • Tetrahydroalstonine

What Is 7 - Hydroxymitragynine?

The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association has published information that 7-hydroxymitragynine has a “13- and 46-fold higher potency than morphine and mitragynine, respectively.” This alkaloid is believed to interact primarily with the mu-opioid receptors, and many people associate it with feelings of relief and relaxation.

Red Kratom Powder Products

Now that you know what makes red kratom so desirable, you’re ready to pick a specific kratom product. An overwhelming majority of the kratom powder in the United States comes from the South Kalamantarian region on Borneo’s island in Indonesia. Since all of this kratom is coming from the same place, there are very little differences between different types of kratom powder within the same strain.

In other words, almost every batch of red vein kratom you can find will be extremely similar. There may be very slight differences in the alkaloid profiles of the following kratom products, but most people say that each of the following are equally good:

  • Premium Organic Red Bentuangie Kratom
  • Premium Red Bali Kratom
  • Premium Red Hulu
  • Premium Red Maeng Da
  • Premium Red Thai Organic Kratom Powder
