Read the label and measure kratom powder
Plain-leaf kratom powder is made from the leaves of Mitragyna speciosa. It differs from concentrated extract shots and tablets. Before using a product, read its ingredients, serving information and available batch report. A product name or preparation method does not establish safety or a medical benefit.
Our current powder serving guidance
Laughing Lion's current plain-leaf powder guidance is 3 grams. At the approximately 1.5% mitragynine content stated for our powder, that amount contains approximately 45 mg of mitragynine. This is an estimate based on that percentage; check the label and available laboratory report for your batch.
Use a suitable digital scale that measures grams. Teaspoons are not reliable gram measurements because powder density and packing vary. A stated serving is not a proven safe dose or a schedule for repeated use. Do not increase amounts to chase an effect.
Preparation: avoid guessing or dry swallowing
Follow the preparation directions for the actual product you have. Do not swallow loose, dry powder or use a “toss and wash” technique that can cause coughing or choking. A preparation method does not make an unmeasured amount appropriate. Do not put kratom into shared food or drinks where someone could consume it unknowingly. Keep the labeled product and any prepared portion away from children.
Powder and capsules: compare by weight
Our plain-leaf capsules contain 500 mg of powder each. Four to six capsules correspond to 2–3 grams of powder, approximately 30–45 mg mitragynine at 1.5%. These figures apply to our current plain-leaf products. They do not apply to extract tablets or another brand's capsules.
Familiar strain and blend names
A red, green, white or blend name alone does not predict alkaloid content or an individual's experience. Our named blends were originally distinct formulations, and their familiar names remain in our catalog.
*Current Laughing Lion plain-leaf powder and capsule products use the same powder within a given batch, regardless of strain, color or historical blend name. Current historical blends are not mixtures of different powders. Batches can change over time.
Important safety information
For adults 21+ only. Do not use if pregnant or nursing. Do not combine with alcohol, opioids, sedatives or other drugs. Discuss medications and medical conditions with a healthcare professional. Do not drive or operate machinery after use. Keep away from children.
Regular use can lead to dependence and withdrawal. Adverse effects and serious events have been reported in people using kratom. Other substances and incomplete information can complicate interpretation, but do not establish that kratom is risk-free. Stop use and seek medical advice for an adverse reaction. A seizure, trouble breathing or loss of consciousness requires emergency help. Kratom is not an FDA-approved treatment; our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent disease.
