Athlete CBD stories are not clinical or anti-doping guarantees
Athletes may describe personal experiences with cannabidiol, but endorsements do not establish that a retail CBD product treats injuries, improves recovery or is safe for a drug-tested athlete.
Check the rules governing your sport
USADA explains that CBD is permitted under WADA rules, while other cannabinoids are prohibited in competition. That distinction does not mean every product labeled CBD is compliant. Check your governing body’s current rules and obtain guidance before making a decision.
Product contents can create risk
USADA warns that hemp and CBD products can contain other cannabinoids and present anti-doping risks. Labels alone cannot establish contents or eliminate a positive-test risk. Full spectrum and “THC-free” claims should not be treated as a pass guarantee.

Research and recovery claims
A laboratory mechanism, testimonial or advertising message is not proof that a product improves athletic recovery. Do not replace care for an injury or a prescribed medicine with a product recommendation from an athlete or retailer.
What a batch report can tell you
Review the sample, date, measured cannabinoids and reporting limits. A laboratory report is useful information about that sample, but it does not guarantee a drug-test outcome or establish individual safety.
CBD safety and medical questions
CBD can cause side effects, interact with medicines and pose risks including liver injury. Do not treat a retail product as a substitute for prescribed treatment. Consult a healthcare professional about medicines and medical conditions, and avoid use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Stop use and seek advice for an adverse reaction. Keep products away from children.
